Take a guided tour of the 45 acres of beautifully planted woodland garden, lakes and arboretum, dotted with 85 striking sculptures and enhanced by the sounds of wildlife. The gardens are widely considered to have the north’s largest collection of Rhododendrons, Azaleas and Magnolias. There are nearly 20,000 plants including some 1,400 Rhododendron varieties, 250 Azalea varieties and 150 different Magnolias. These plants are located within a beautiful valley with scenic woodland walks enhanced by the lakes, a pagoda, summer house, himalayan shelter, contemplation circle and norse hut. Upon arrival we will have the exclusive use of a private facility where an informative talk on the plants and gardens will be given and tea and coffee served. This talk will be followed by a free flow tour of the grounds. The return journey will be punctuated by a late lunch in a local hostelry of good repute.
